Restaurant 1305. Built, 2014
A former factory in Brunswick is reorganised to house a garage area for a fleet of food trucks, a design studio and a casual café serving donuts during the day and fried chicken at night.
Industrial elements have been retained and repurposed - veneer boards from the factory offices now clad the ceiling and walls of the dining area. Cyclone wire fencing provides segregation between the garage area and public space.
The design took shape from a series of conversations rather than the typical formal architectural process; this unorthodox progression is rendered in the makeshift highly functional and minimalist internal spaces.
